Most career resources assume you already know what you want. These don't. They meet you where most transitions actually start — in the middle of the uncertainty, before anything is clear.

We built this section to give you concrete things to do when “just take it one day at a time” isn't enough. Start with the CCAT if you're job hunting — it shows up in more hiring processes than most people realize, and practicing it takes the surprise out of it.

What is the CCAT?

The CCAT (Criteria Cognitive Aptitude Test) is a 50-question cognitive assessment with a strict 15-minute time limit. It measures problem-solving and critical thinking — not job-specific knowledge. Most people don't finish all 50 questions, and that's normal. The goal is accuracy and smart time management.

Spatial / Abstract

  • Shape sequences — what comes next?
  • "Odd one out" — find what doesn't belong
  • Matrix completion — 3×3 grid patterns

Math & Logic

  • Direct calculations (no calculator)
  • Word problems
  • Number & letter series
  • Syllogisms & critical thinking
Aa

Verbal

  • Word analogies
  • Sentence completion
  • Antonyms
  • Attention to detail

Tips that actually help

Skip and come back
Don't get stuck. Flag hard questions and keep moving — you can return with remaining time.
Know your category strengths
If verbal is your strongest section, make sure you get those points. Spatial reasoning is the easiest to skip quickly.
Time awareness is the skill
At 15 min for 50 questions, you have 18 seconds per question. Practice under real time pressure — not just untimed drills.
Expect not to finish
Most people answer 30–40 questions. Unanswered questions don't count against you.
While You're Practicing

Hear from people who made it through.

Every episode is a conversation with someone who was exactly where you are — and figured something out.
